Enjoy fresh, gourmet citrus right from your garden or sunny patio with our live Meyer Lemon tree (Citrus × meyeri). Originally discovered near Beijing, China, and beloved by chefs and home growers alike, this naturally dwarfing citrus variety is a hybrid cross between a true lemon and a sweet orange or mandarin.

Meyer Lemons are prized for their smooth, deep golden-yellow peel, floral-scented blossom bursts, and tender, seed-sparse segments overflowing with sweet-tart juice. Because they are significantly less acidic than standard grocery store lemons (like Eureka or Lisbon), they are the top culinary choice for desserts, marinades, craft cocktails, lemonades, and fresh dressings. Well-established in 1-gallon nursery containers, our young trees develop sturdy root systems and compact branch structures, making them ideal for growing in the landscape or inside large decorative patio containers.

Features

– Gourmet sweet-tart flavor: Juicy flesh with a delicate floral aroma and lower acidity than standard commercial lemons.
– Highly ornamental & compact: Glossy evergreen leaves and intensely fragrant white blossoms.
– Container size: 1 Gallon.
– Early & repeat producer: Often blooms and sets fruit multiple times throughout the year in warm conditions.

How to Care & Grow

1. Sunlight: Needs full sun (at least 6 to 8 hours of direct daily sunlight) for vigorous growth and abundant fruiting.
2. Soil & Planting: Requires loose, fertile, well-draining citrus or cactus potting mix. Ensure pots have ample drainage holes to prevent root rot.
3. Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 2 to 3 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. Avoid letting the roots sit in standing water.
4. Climate & Protection: Thrives outdoors year-round in USDA Zones 9–11. In colder regions, move the container indoors near a sunny south-facing window during frosty winter periods.
