Care Tips, Recipes & More from Inca Plant Nursery
Mamey sapote is one of the most beloved tropical fruits in Latin America—and for good reason. With creamy orange flesh and a rich, custard-like flavor, mamey is both nutritious and delicious. At Inca Plant Nursery, we grow two exceptional varieties: Magaña and Key West.
Meet the Varieties
Mamey Magaña
- Large, oval fruits (2–5 lbs)
- Smooth texture, bright orange pulp
- Sweet, creamy flavor perfect for drinks and desserts
- Ripens: Early to mid-season
- Tree Size: Large and productive
Mamey Key West
- Rounder, smaller fruits
- Slightly denser flesh with a nutty sweetness
- Ripens: Later season
- Tree Size: Medium to large
Both varieties are excellent choices for home gardeners and fruit lovers alike.
